About Us Soccer Shootouts winter season of indoor soccer tournaments

Soccer Shootouts

What is Futsal?
Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor football, the game is played on a hard court surface delimited by lines; walls or boards are not used. Futsal is also played with a smaller ball with less bounce than a regular football due to the surface of the field. The surface, ball and rules create an emphasis on improvisation, creativity, and technique as well as ball control and passing in small spaces.

Soccer Shootouts is excited to announce the winter season for indoor soccer tournaments. Indoor 7v7 soccer tournaments are rapidly growing across the nation, as more and more coaches, players and parents are discovering that single-day shootouts are a fun and inexpensive way for soccer players to practice their skills and prepare for the upcoming outdoor season. There are 6 age divisions 2nd-U8, 3rd-U9, 4th-U10, 5th-U11, 6th-U12, 7th-U13, 8th-U14, 9th-U15 and 10th-U16.

All tournaments will be played indoors at the Hammond Sportsplex (Hammond, IN) and Edward Hospital Athletic Center (Romeoville, IL). Soccer programs will organize their own 7v7 teams and compete in indoor tournaments and leagues in December, January, and February.

PARTICIPATE, EVALUATE, APPRECIATE Playing in weekly youth tournaments is an essential part of becoming an excellent soccer player. However, it only takes 2-3 weekly games for the players to "participate", the coaches to "evaluate", and the fans to "appreciate" playing the game. The short-term goals of youth competition are celebrating the individual/team strengths, identifying key weaknesses, and quickly getting back onto the field to improve player skills and team strategies. Train, Practice, Play, Relax, Repeat!
